What is Gardner's Zero Waste?
Gardner's Zero Waste is a mobile shop serving parts of East Dorset and the New Forest.
The business was born out of a frustration at not being able to buy unpackaged goods locally. We’re pretty good at recycling and composting but wanted a solution to the single use plastic packaging ending up in the bin.
Founder Jo decided to bring a little old-fashioned, plastic free shopping to her local area. With a nod to her great great grandfather, William Gardner, who owned a dairy and grocery shop in Fulham in the early 1900s, Gardner’s Zero Waste mobile shop brings wholefoods, household and personal care products to stops around East Dorset and the New Forest.
We offer refills of foodstuffs from oats to oregano, cashews to chocolate buttons and lots of things in between! A wide range of cleaning products are available, including washing up liquid, laundry liquid and fabric conditioner, and you can stock up on plastic-free toiletries too. Just bring your containers to refill- whether they’re ancient Tupperware or last week’s takeaway tubs. We simply ask that all detergent containers are clean and have their original labels removed.
We’re ordinary people taking little steps to lessen our impact on the world. We’re not perfect and we don’t expect you to be either! Our mission is to help you make little changes in your everyday life to reduce waste and be kinder to the planet.
We have temporarily suspended our scheduled stops as a result of Covid-19 and will update the site and Facebook page when these resume.
